AGS Therapeutics Expands Leadership Team, Appointing Dr. Chris Martin to Drive Business Development and Strategic Partnerships.
Former Pfizer R&D business development lead joins to drive strategic collaborations for AGS’s microalgae extracellular vesicle (MEV) delivery platform.
Évry-Courcouronnes, France – November 2nd 2026 – AGS Therapeutics ("AGS"), a biotechnology company developing a novel drug delivery platform based on microalgae extracellular vesicles (MEVs), today announced the appointment of Dr Chris Martin as Vice President, Business Development, effective November 2026.
Dr Martin brings more than 25 years of experience across pharmaceutical R&D, business development and complex partnership delivery. Together with Marie-Hélène Leopold, AGS’ Chief Corporate Development Officer, he will expand AGS's efforts to build strategic research collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners, demonstrating the breadth of applications of the MEV platform across therapeutic areas and payload types.
Dr Martin spent 12 years at Pfizer, most recently as Associate Director, R&D Business Development where he worked hand-in-hand with pharma and biotech companies and academic institutions across Europe, North America, India and Japan. Earlier at Pfizer, he held portfolio and scientific leadership roles in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Discovery Research, after starting his career as a research scientist at AstraZeneca. Since 2015 he has advised life sciences organizations as a consultant and programme director, working with Top 10 Pharmas as well as world-class academic institutions. Dr Martin served as R&D Chief of Staff at Clover Biopharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage vaccine company. Through Lowtide Consulting, which he founded in 2022, he partners with biotech CEOs on business development, strategic alliances and partnerships, negotiations, and M&A and exit strategy.
Dr Martin holds a PhD and a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from Loughborough University and an MBA from the Open University.
"Chris combines a scientist's understanding of drug development with deep experience negotiating partnerships from the perspective of a global pharma company and biotech companies and on behalf of academic institutions; an unusual blend of experience," said Manuel Vega, Chief Executive Officer of AGS Therapeutics. "Our MEVs have shown they can deliver a wide range of payloads, from peptides and proteins to mRNA, siRNA and plasmid DNA, across oral, intranasal and ocular routes. Chris will help us turn that versatility into strategic collaborations with partners who can take it further."
"MEVs can address one of the hardest problems in modern therapeutics: getting complex molecules across biological barriers to the cells where they are needed," said Dr Chris Martin. "I am delighted to join AGS at this stage and look forward to working with the team to build partnerships that show what this platform can deliver."
